I decided to post some pics of my container home in Western Massachusetts. I built this home as a getaway from the city. That and to be close to my family who have an organic farm down the hill. Since I moved to NY I've only lived in lofts. So renovating a warehouse isn't so different then building a house right? Wrong..haha. I decided to use shipping containers because I'm comfortable working in metal. I also knew this was going to be a solo project (for the most part) so I was going to treat this more as a fabrication project. The pics will be out of order as I find them so excuse the arrangement. So here I am digging out my pond. Well not really. Deane Messeck was gracious enough to let me have a go with his excavator. These pictures show mid-completion. cutting a hole for the oversized staircase, and working on the deck. I honestly like the no-roof look but wasn't going to mess with Berkshire winters. 1st floor. The ICF foundation along with this wood stove makes it nice and toasty. Some interior shots of the first floor as things are starting to come together.
